You have figured things out and have the life that you thought you were supposed to have, so why doesn’t it feel good?  You did all the right things, and yet you feel completely overwhelmed and stuck, and like there is so much more to do. You ask yourself, “What am I missing?”  “What did I do wrong to end up feeling like this?”  “Why didn’t it work?”

You’re thoughtful, capable, and self-aware. Yet you find yourself overthinking conversations, avoiding conflict, struggling to set boundaries, taking responsibility for other people’s feelings, being incredibly hard on yourself and continually analyzing looping thoughts. You shut down when you’re overwhelmed and feel things intensely. (Because that’s what you’re supposed to do, right?) You’ve done the self-reflection, read the self-help books and gone down many late-night search engine rabbit holes. You understand aspects of your childhood and can see some patterns. You can explain where your people-pleasing, perfectionism, or anxiety came from.  You thought that would be enough.

Unfortunately, knowing what you’re “supposed” to do doesn’t always mean you have the capacity to do it. The understanding and the action come from two different parts of the brain. Sometimes it helps you see where you want to go, but sometimes it keeps you looping and stuck. A great tool that helps put that loop in a line is a gentle, body-based trauma therapy called Lifespan Integration (LI). LI can help work with past experiences that feel like they’re still showing up in the present. Rather than repeatedly analyzing or regretting the past, LI helps your brain finally understand that messy stuff is in the past and that you can feel better and move forward.

For some folks, this can be particularly helpful when they’ve already done a lot of talk therapy and thinking about their experiences but still feel empty, heavy, exhausted, anxious and burnt out.

Our work isn’t about adding another list of things you’re supposed to be “doing better.”

LI is more than talking. It’s hands-on and practical. We work to access the part of your brain that actually supports healing, change and moving you forward. One part of your brain is totally ready to get on with life and make progress.  Another part might need some more convincing.  I can help you get there.  Together, we can get your values to line up with your reactions and so you can move forward.  It’s time to stop working so hard just to keep going in circles.  Let’s make it easier to be you, living the life you’ve always hoped for.

If you have read this far, it’s likely because you’re feeling lost, heavy and exhausted. Yet your anxious thoughts about the past and future continue to spiral, and you’re wondering how you will ever get a sense of peace or satisfaction that is authentic to you. You’ve landed at the right place, and this is a sign that it’s ok to put your mental health and growth first.
